I find Los Campesinos! charming; a breath of punky, rambunctious fresh air. Their new album, Romance Is Boring, comes out January 26 on Arts & Crafts, one of the best labels out there for introducing great new indie bands to the (small) masses.
I once heard the lead-singer of a well-known band say that it takes a lot of talent to sound “off.” Los Campesinos!’ brand of alt-rock sounds thrown together in the most beautiful way. The lyrics of this band will always set them apart, and this album will be no different, I’m sure. They are essentially stories and prose, set to kickass rock. The first single, “There Are Listed Buildings,” puts horns and a wonderful bassline to good use.
