Cold War Kids: “Audience”

Here we have a healthy dose of soul from a band that’s known for it. A lovely song about being born to run away, dance and yet be loyally devoted. Cold War Kids, from Long Beach, Calif.,  have a knack for creating a bluesy rock sound that can get your toe tappin’ and your head bobbin’. This song — off their 4-song Behave Yourself EP, out Jan. 19 in stores but available digitally now — is no exception. Thanks to both the wonderful piano riff and the fantastic vocal stylings of Nathan Willett, this song has funk and heart in no short supply. Enjoy!

Close your eyes
put your finger on the globe
Spin it round and where it stops you got to pack your bags and go
Land in the Mojave desert, well you got sun
Three’s too many when you’re playing for an audience of one
Two’s too busy when you’re playing for an audience of one
One is the only when you’re playing for an audience of one

Audience” By Cold War Kids (From Behave Yourself EP, in stores Tuesday)
