Born Ruffians: “Sole Brother”

You just don’t ask your female friend for help moving the sofa into your new apartment. So say Born Ruffians, who have whetted our appetites for their new album, titled Say It, with a first single called “Sole Brother”. It appears that the band hasn’t lost its flair for catchy, indie guitar pop. But this first cut is a bit low-key for a band that offered up jangly, stomping gems like “I Need A Life” (which earned a trippy remix by Fourt Tet) and “Hummingbird” on their debut LP Red, Yellow & Blue.

But this brand new little ditty still serves up spunk and soul (or would it really be sole?) in equal quantities for an enjoyable listen. My interest is piqued. Hopefully yours will be as well.
