The Secret Sisters: Tennessee Me

It’s usually Matt that’s on here raving about the latest female crooner that he is in love with. That dude has a soft spot for ladies who can sing, let me tell ya. But after listening to The Secret Sisters self-titled debut LP, I cannot help but gush over these lovely southern belles. Laura and Lydia Rogers are on Jack White’s Third Man Records, their debut was worked on by the legendary T-Bone Burnett, and their backing band includes members of The Raconteurs and My Morning Jacket. It’s easy to hear why they keep such esteemed company: true rootsy, southern charm and harmonies drip from every track on this album. The sisters are a talented duo, even covering Ol’ Blue Eyes’ classic “Something Stupid”.
