Walk The Moon: “Anna Sun”

I was thoroughly impressed with Cincinnati’s Walk The Moon while watching them open for Pomegranates and Young the Giant in Columbus on Jan. 27.

The band’s energetic brand of power indie-pop provides an endless supply of catchy hooks and heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics that resonate particularly well when combined with the energy of their live show. The five-minute epicness of “Anna Sun” was enough to convince me to buy Walk The Moon’s album minutes after their live performance.

WTM’s lead vocalist Nicholas Petricca has a voice that nicely matches the bouncy energy of this song, which builds and releases with each repeating of the chorus and on the bridge. After listening to their full-length debut I Want! I Want!, I can say Walk The Moon is just as much fun on record as they were to see live.

The video for this tune is also great, and looks like it was a lot of fun to make. Mouse over the album art to play the song!
