Saint Motel: “Puzzle Pieces”

The bouncy keyboard riff that kicks off Los Angeles-based Saint Motel’s song “Puzzle Pieces” immediately reminded me of Jukebox The Ghost, a band from the opposite end of the country that has a similar gift for melody. When the fuzzy guitars and wonderful, emotive vocals enter soon thereafter, it’s to great effect. The song is buoyant from start to finish, humming along for all 3 minutes and 50 seconds. Try not to get a piece of this track stuck in your head all day.

Saint Motel embrace their hard-charging indie-pop sound and “Puzzle Pieces” is a fantastic example of just how irresistible that sound is. They’ve played recent shows with Ariel Pink and will be at SXSW in Austin next week. Based on this song, I can only assume their live shows kick some serious ass. Check out “Puzzle Pieces” below!

You are right! The piano hook is dizzyingly catchy! Is “dizzyingly” even a word?
