Friendly Fires: “Live Those Days Tonight”

The second post I ever wrote on this blog included a four-pack of songs from Friendly Fires. I won’t link to that post, because it’s horrifying. But the point is, I was somewhat late to the 2008 party for the threesome from St. Albans, UK.  I did not discover their brand of funky, disco indie-pop until early 2009, and “Jump In The Pool” was a song I must’ve spun a thousand times before retiring it to my iTunes annals. Well, the group is back — finally! — and have a new single called “Live Those Days Tonight”, the first taste we get of their new album Pala, out May 16.

The song has the thunderous, bumping percussion, synth-heavy melody and nice dancefloor vibe that I came to love on their debut record. Check it out below.
