Introducing — The Fearless Vampire Killers: “For You And Me”

Fearless in the flowers 2009

The Fearless Vampire Killers, one has to assume, are named after the 1967 horror/comedy film of the same name. “For You And Me” sounds like it could’ve come out of the same era, with its smoky guitar grooves and sultry bass. It’s a classic-style rocker, with a little bit of punch and plenty of attitude. And about 3 minutes in, there’s a wonderful wah-wah, finger-picking ax breakdown.

TVFK are part of the Australian rock talent pool that seems to be growing every time we open our inbox here at TWJ. They reside in Melbourne, but their music sounds like it could’ve come out of the hippie-era U.S. of A. I feel as though “For You And Me” probably could’ve fit on the soundtrack for the movie of the same name. Maybe during some spooky, acid-tripping graveyard chase scene. Give it a listen, let it grow on you like it did us.
