J.J. Ipsen and The Paper Crown: “DaDaDa”

This charming little ditty popped into our inbox not long ago. It’s got a lovely piano hook that immediately won me over, and the feel is familiar, almost old-timey, while still presenting something fresh. The rhythm and playfulness remind me a bit of Dr. Dog. While Ipsen is certainly the mastermind behind the band’s album Entertainment Ordinaire (out April 26 on Label Fantastic!), this song bounces along with the energy of a full-band composition.

I tapped my toes and snapped my fingers along with this one. I hope you will too.
