UK band Boat To Row have an awful lot going for them on this fabulous track. There’s some dynamite guy-girl harmonies. There are swooning strings underneath guitar and banjo melodies. And there’s the tale it tells about pining for one love — because that person owns your heart forever — even when that yearning seems to have no hope of paying off.
So not only is it gorgeous musically — think Mumford & Sonsish with a wonderful female touch — but is endearing for the honest and lovely sentiment it expresses. Boat to Row could fit nicely behind the major players that have emerged on the Brit-folk landscape in recent years (like Laura Marling or M&S or Noah And The Whale), but they truly have an alluring sound all their own.
