I swear, Ernest Greene must have Falcor living in his backyard, because every song I’ve heard sounds like I’m riding the flying cotton candy hot dog amongst the clouds. From his forthcoming sophomore album Within and Without (out July 12th), we now have another track that leaves the world behind. “Amor Fati” –translated from Latin to love of fate or love of one’s fate– tailors Greene’s custom vocal fittings to a glazed background of unicorn herds and triple sunsets. It’s less spacey and more innately joyful than anything from Washed Out’s 2010 Life of Leisure. It could all be coming from his recent marriage to the long-time gal. Together with the other released track, “Eyes Be Closed”, we may be looking at the very best summer album of the year.
Several remixes of the 1st single, “Eyes Be Closed”.
