Video: Alex Winston – “Velvet Elvis”

Douglas looks at the current take on the monitor

Sometimes it takes a video to really explain the fullness of a song.  And my, is “Velvet Elvis” a whole bit saxyier than first believed.  The unrequited love of an object, as envisioned by director Douglas Hart (seen in the pic above), is a –to say the least- provocative image to ponder.  In the companion clip for the single, Alex Winston makes all sorts of suggestive advances towards a smorgasbord of inanimates.  Never before have violin cases and bird cages seemed so brilliantly naughty.

And on a technical side, the lighting and the rapid frame editing technique Hart uses, along with his use of color or the lack thereof, makes this a great music video that fleshes out the undiscovered parts of a song.  Watch it and grab some remixes of “Velvet Elvis” below.
