If you’re going to build a buzz for an artist, an album, or just about anything, it’s tough to do a better job than British synth-popper Tyson has in making people salivate for his full-length record, which apparently is due some time in the near future. The singles that have emerged from the UK have all been dynamite: dark, pulsing disco-style beats, shimmering keyboards and Tyson’s trademark power-falsetto vocals. These tracks are designed to make people dance and brood at the same time.
With “After You’re Gone,” the formula doesn’t change much. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, like your mother always used to say. The accompanying video is a tamer, black-and-white S&M fantasy, and it’s about as enigmatic as Tyson’s presence on the music scene has been thus far. But like his songs are tough to turn an ear from, the video is a sexy magnet for the eyes. “After You’re Gone” is available on iTunes now, and you can stream it as well as watch the video below.
