Keegan DeWitt: “Thunder Clatter”

We wrote about what a talented, busy dude Keegan DeWitt is back in November. Well it seems things haven’t slowed down for the Nashville native, and he likes that just fine. DeWitt was a part of his fourth Daytrotter Barnstormer Tour just recently with the likes of Sondre Lerche and Guards. He played Rockwood Music Hall in New York this past Friday, and will do a hometown show on June 16 in support of Miami Horror. And he has a new EP coming out in August, with “Thunder Clatter” as the lead single.

“Thunder Clatter” is another anthemic indie jam, with wall-of-sound chimes and delightful guitar licks to accompany DeWitt’s wonderful vocals. Musically, this song actually reminds me a tad bit of Phoenix’s most recent work, with sugary hooks and all kinds of backing effects. But the voice is unmistakably DeWitt’s. It truly grabs the ear from the very start, and it doesn’t let go until you’ve started singing along by the end.

This latest single from DeWitt is sure to be on plenty of summer playlists, and they’ll be better for it. After loving his Nothing Shows EP last year, I can’t wait to see what this new EP will bring. “Thunder Clatter” has taken up firm roots in my brain, much to my delight. Download it free below!
